Twitter

So I signed up for a Twitter account, and never thought I would...
I am not sure how I feel about Twitter. I have always had mixed signals about Twitter. I understand the value in "Tweeting" but also see the downside of it. I am uneasy about my whole life being posted out there. I do get the value of staying connected, but think there is a whole lot of nonsense Tweeting. I am going to continue to play around with it, and see how I can make it work for me! I was able to locate some of our classmates and will continue to see who else I can find!

  1. Qiana,
Try to find someone professionally to follow....like some professional bloggers. I use it strictly for my own professional development. I learn so much from what my twitter network shares. I find new articles, hyperlinks, conferences, keynote speeches, etc everyday! Go to the professional blogs we've been reading in class and look for the blue "t" for Twitter. Then, follow those people and see what you can learn from them. You don't necessarily have to be "tweeting" or sharing anything just yet! Also, look at who I follow....most are educational technology leaders...good people to follow!

  3. Did you get a chance to look in our insys497 Diigo group to see all of the resources. You can download a web2.0 tool to sit on your desktop so you can see different feeds (searches) of twitter at once.....I can show you before class tonight if you are interested! (but remind me - if you get there early!).

  4. I am also only at the stage of following pop culture on Twitter. While is is amuseing to know what Snoop or Paris are up to, I have not really found individuals in my area of interest (organizational culture and training)to follow on Twitter. I have to put a concerted effort, and time (where can I get more of that!!!) to find the types of Twitter "tweets" that are of value to me in my type of work. I continue to be more aware of the use of Twitter being used commercially in many areas and want to see how it can benefit me as a learner.
